Because we care about your pet’s health, we are AAHA Accredited!
Did you know that accreditation is required for human hospitals, but voluntary for animal hospitals? We’ve chosen to voluntarily go through the process of becoming accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) because we understand that your pet holds a valued place in your heart, and their health is important to us.
What does it mean to be AAHA accredited? AAHA was founded in 1933 and is the only association in North America that provides accreditation to companion animal hospitals. To be accredited by AAHA, our hospital must demonstrate an exceptional level of medical care and client service, and be measured against the most rigorous standards in the veterinary industry. Only 15% of animal hospitals in the United States and Canada are AAHA accredited, and we’re one of them! During the accreditation process, we are evaluated based on AAHA’s Standards of Accreditation—an extensive list of approximately 900 standards that directly correlate to the care we are providing your pet. Some examples of these standards include:
• Diagnostic services — We are required to provide x-ray and laboratory services in order to quickly and accurately diagnose your pet’s condition.
• Pain management — We look for signs of pain each time we examine your pet, and provide appropriate pain management for the anticipated level and duration of pain.
• Onsite pharmacy — After diagnosis, our onsite pharmacy gives us the ability to immediately begin treatment.
• Medical records — AAHA requires that medical records be thorough and complete, ensuring that we better understand your pet’s medical history and how past medical issues might be impacting their current medical status.
Choosing an AAHA-accredited hospital for your pet’s medical care provides you with peace of mind because you’ll know that the hospital you’ve selected has the team, training, equipment, medical procedures, and facilities that AAHA believes are important for the delivery of high-quality veterinary care. If you’re happy with the care your pet has received here at House Vets, please tell your friends!
To celebrate our achievement of AAHA Accreditation, the whole team got together, along with some clients who wanted to celebrate with us! We had a photo area and some props, and decided to make good use of them!
